He was a famous painter during this time, but other aspects of his work endured throughout the ages, for example, his notebooks and drawings on different topics all the way from botany to astronomy. For decades this was considered an unimportant copy of Da Vinci’s work. But following its restoration in 2012, some art historians believe it was painted by Da Vinci.
